Luke recorded, “On that very day some Pharisees came, saying to Him, ‘Get out and depart from here, for Herod wants to kill You.’” (Luke 13:31). Luke records only the content of the warning they delivered and does not reveal the inner motives of the Pharisees. Therefore we must concentrate on the recorded words and on Jesus’ answer to them. The death threat of Herod, who held power, was delivered to Jesus, but even on hearing that news the Lord did not stop the ministry He was doing.
