In the word we read today, the Lord speaks about prayer. A certain man had a friend, and he went to that friend at midnight and asked like this: “Friend, lend me three loaves; for a friend of mine has come to me on his journey, and I have nothing to set before him” (Luke 11:5–6). A friend who was on a journey had come to him, and he had nothing to set before him, so late at night he knocked on the door of his friend’s house and asked him to lend him just three loaves.
