I would like to share the word on the basis of the word we read today. The Lord spoke the word that He gives the Holy Spirit to the one who prays to God. When we look at the word, from verse 5 to verse 7 He explains with an example why we must pray. It is the natural word that if a certain man, for some reason, has a guest come to his house and has nothing to set before him, and tells his friend to lend him three loaves, would not anyone get up and give? In verse 8 He said, “I say to you, though he will not rise and give to him because he is his friend, yet because of his persistence he will rise and give him as many as he needs” Though he would not get up and give because he is his friend, since the man asks strongly and keeps coming and asking him to lend it, he cannot help getting up and giving, if only because he is bothered. And then the Lord said to us, “So I say to you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened” (Luke 11:9–10).
