The word we read today is a word the Lord spoke to all of us. This word does not mean that when we go to a worldly feast we should physically sit in a lower seat. What the Lord taught us through this word is that when we are invited before the word of the Lord, that is, when we believe in God, we must not raise our hearts. It is to hear the word with the attitude of not raising our hearts but knowing our own appearance and learning. It is to accept it as the word God has spoken, believe it, and acknowledge it, and so be saved. And it is a word to be exalted at the time when God exalts us.
