Luke chapter 13 begins with the warning that everyone must turn to God, and goes on to the mercy of God, who is patient with sinners, the true rest that Jesus gives, the growing kingdom of God, the narrow gate of salvation, and the love of the Lord toward Jerusalem. The fact that we must believe the word and return to God while the opportunity of grace is open runs through the whole chapter.
